Spectramobile Returns & Refunds Policy
At Spectramobile, we are committed to delivering quality products and excellent customer service. Please review our returns and refunds policy carefully.
Warranty Period
All Spectramobile phones are covered by a 12-month limited warranty from the date of purchase. Accessories such as batteries, chargers, and handsfree kits carry a 6-month warranty.
- Out-of-Box Failure (OBF) Returns
If your Spectramobile device is found to be defective or non-functional straight out of the box, you may return it for a replacement or refund within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery.
To qualify as an OBF return, the device must:
- Exhibit a manufacturing defect (e.g., won’t power on, screen malfunction, speaker failure).
- Be in like-new condition with no signs of physical or liquid damage.
- Include original packaging, accessories, and proof of purchase.
All OBF returns are subject to inspection and testing by our technical team. If no fault is found or the issue is determined to be due to misuse or damage, the return will be declined.
- Refund Process for approved OBF’s
Once a return is received and inspected:
- For direct purchases from Spectramobile (via our website or store), approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 7–10 business days. You will need to provide us with proof of banking details.
- For purchases through third-party retailers or network partners (e.g., MTN, Vodacom, Cell C, Telkom), refunds or replacements will be handled in accordance with the partner’s return and refund policy. Customers must return the device to the original point of purchase along with proof of purchase and any other documents required by the retailer or network.
Spectramobile cannot process refunds directly for items purchased through third-party channels.
- Warranty Returns
If your device develops a fault within the warranty period, you may return it for assessment. Based on the findings and warranty terms, we will:
- Repair the device, or
- Replace it if repair is not viable
Please note: The warranty does not cover:
- Accidental damage.
- Liquid or moisture damage.
- Damage due to misuse or unauthorized repairs.
Out-of-Warranty Repairs
- Repair quotes will be provided for devices not covered by warranty.
- If the quote is rejected, a R250 handling fee applies.
- Devices not paid for or collected within 90 days may be sold to recover costs.
- Customers must follow up if they have not received feedback within 30 days.
- Exclusions
Returns or refunds will not be accepted under the following conditions:
- Devices damaged due to liquid exposure or moisture ingress.
- Physical damage (e.g., cracked screens, dents, scratches).
- Devices showing signs of unauthorized tampering or repairs.
- Missing accessories, packaging, or original proof of purchase.
- Return requests made after the eligible return period has expired.
- How to Return a Product
To initiate a return, please contact our support team at support@spectramobile.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear images if applicable.
If your device was purchased through a retailer or mobile network, please return it directly to their store or service centre.
- Limitation of Liability
Spectramobile will not be held liable for:
- Loss or corruption of user data during repair
- Any indirect or consequential loss (e.g., loss of income, downtime)
- Devices not collected within 90 days of repair completion
- Compatibility issues with external software or applications
- Customer Responsibilities
- Back up personal data before submitting a device
- Include all original accessories and packaging
- Retain your proof of purchase and reference number
- Follow up with Spectramobile Support if no feedback is received within 30 days
